Did you read the Associated Press article about the monks in Moncks Corner, S.C., who are catching “heat” from the animal rights wackos known as People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals — or PETA?
According to PETA, monks at Mepkin Abbey aren’t raising chickens properly and, in fact, are mistreating their egg-laying machines by cramming thousands of them into small cages and periodically starving them to increase egg production.
PETA’s accusations come despite the fact the monks operation was certified last year by the United Egg Producers.
The graphic at shown offers a message — Screw PETA! — the monks might consider for use in future communications with PETA. PETA, get over it. You harrass us about our carriage horses, too, and we have the best cared for animals on the east coast. My thoughts are with the Monks and hopefully they’ll do well. How does this minority have such great power? Bless the monks and their chickens.
