It seems more and more people find themselves disagreeing with Al Gore or, in the least, beginning to question whether the former vice president-turned global warming alarmist might be wrong. Here are some examples I thought readers of Bob McCarty Writes might find interesting:
Salon.com columnist Camille Paglia offers a refreshing opinion about global warming. Here’s a sample of her piece:
“However, I am a skeptic about what is currently called global warming. I have been highly suspicious for years about the political agenda that has slowly accrued around this issue. As a lapsed Catholic, I detest dogma in any area. Too many of my fellow Democrats seem peculiarly credulous at the moment, as if, having ground down organized religion into nonjudgmental, feel-good therapy, they are hungry for visions of apocalypse. From my perspective, virtually all of the major claims about global warming and its causes still remain to be proved.”
From the blogosphere, I offer a possibly-changing viewpoint from Richard Sprague, a blogger who’s online mini-bio includes many bonafides: Born and raised in Neillsville, Wisc.; educated at Stanford University and Wharton School of Business; lived in Japan for seven years; and worked at Apple Computer, WebTV Networks and Microsoft. He’s now working on speech recognition, natural language and much more.
At his blog, he said “until now I found no reason to question them,” speaking of those this blog refers to as global warming alarmists. Then, he adds this:
“That’s why now I find myself shaken by a new 1-hr documentary from Britain’s Channel 4 called The Great Global Warming Swindle.
“The documentary quotes from many experts (former New Scientist editor, professors from M.I.T. and elsewhere, senior NASA scientists, etc.) who not only question the science behind Al Gore’s movie, but offer convincing reasons why it appears that there is an overwhelming scientific consensus in spite of very good counter-evidence.”
Hopefully, Mr. Sprague’s movement to “questionable” status is representative of millions of others worldwide who, after initially “swallowing what Al Gore was dishing out” now recognize the value of a dose of INCONVENIENT TRUTH SERUM.
