Only days after Hollywood actor Richard Gere committed acts of “visual violence” against the people of India by kissing a Bollywood actress in public [see this Bob McCarty Writes post], ABC News reports Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is taking heat from Islamic prudes in his country for a similar act of indecency. It seems the Iranian madman publicly embraced and kissed the hand of an elderly woman who used to be his schoolteacher [Click here for the full ABC story.]
Putting on my civic-minded thinking cap, I think it would be in everyone’s best interest if Gere and Ahmadinejad formed a support group — How does “Loose Lips Anonymous” sound? — where typecast Hollywood actors and raving-lunatic dictators can receive counseling for their seeming inability to control their lips.
For that matter, they can invite another Hollywood actor, Alec Baldwin, and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) to join their group. Although, technically, both of their issues involve out-of-control tongues, I think most would agree their recent actions — which we describe as “verbal violence” and “verbal stupidity”, respectively — meet the requirements for Loose Lips membership. For a refresher about their recent actions, see these Bob McCarty Writes posts: Baldwin and Reid.
If the duo — or trio — ever decides to hold a support group meeting, I trust that members of the papparazzi who read this blog will supply us with photos. Stay tuned!
