Hat’s off to the Hagerstown (Md.) Suns, a single-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals Major League Baseball Club!
According to a blurb on the team’s web site, Suns team officials banned singer Sheryl Crow from attending their game tonight due to anti-toilet paper comments she made earlier this year. The ban coincides with the team’s celebration of the 150th anniversary of the invention of toilet paper.
Confused? Read the April 23 post at Bob McCarty Writes to learn more about the toilet paper-related comments that have flushed Crow’s popularity among millions of proud, toilet paper-appreciating Americans nationwide.

Sheryl Crow is a typical left-wing hypocrite who pretends to be environmentally concerned because it is currently fashionable to be so. Too bad she doesn’t realize that the lights and sound system at her concerts suck up energy like crazy. Oh, those jets she flies on from show to show spew carbon dioxide into the air, too. But she’s got to tour to make that luscious money.

DFL — I find it hard to disagree with you as many of my posts show. Upon learning that she had been banned from a minor league baseball game, I couldn’t help but laugh out loud. Thanks for posting. — Bob

She said it was a joke! She often tours by bus, has gotten rid of here SUV, etc etc. No one is perfect but what’s wrong with trying to raise some awareness? No one is saying concerts should be banned – where does that keep coming from? Just take a little more care and collectively things could improve.
All you guys talk about is free speech but really hate it when it is exercised … but, I suppose, your comments are a part of that so carry on …

Keith — Are celebrities supposed to get a “pass” when they make stupid comments and then try to pass them off as having been “a joke”? I think not. As for free speech, sure, I’m for it. When it comes to one sheet per visit, however, that’s a whole different ballgame. Thanks for posting! — Bob
