Blogger Suggests German Physicists Watch STAR TREK

August 16th, 2007 · 1 Comment

A UK Telegraph headline screamed these words, ‘We have broken the speed of light’. Below the headline, writer Nic Fleming writes:

The pair say they have conducted an experiment in which microwave photons – energetic packets of light – traveled “instantaneously” between a pair of prisms that had been moved up to 3ft apart.

Impressed? I’m not. The characters on Star Trek began beaming themselves all over the place more than 30 years ago. Perhaps some more television time is in order for the physicists. Might I suggest TV Land?

I’ve had my scientists at Bonco, UnInc., working on a time accelerator/decelerator for the past five years. Geared to speed up the passage of time on a 10x scale while I’m at work, and slow it to 1/1oth normal on my days off. Unforts, it apparently also has/had a time-travel feature inadvertently included with it, so that when a test team decided to try it, phffffft, they disappeared. In which direction is the question. If you see them in the next week or so, let me know. If you remember having seen them 30 years ago, never mind.
