President George W. Bush is a fantastic political strategist, and I can prove it.
Last night, Drudge Report broke a developing story about Bush’s prediction that Hillary Clinton will win the Democrat Party nomination. By breaking his vow, as Drudge put it, not to play “pundit-in-chief” in the 2008 presidential race, the president has set up the left-wing liberal establishment for failure.
After all, every time the president says something in public, he can count on members of the liberal opposition to quickly counter his statements by claiming he’s lying or he’s basing his decisions upon bad data. Therein lies the beauty of the Bush strategy when it comes to Hillary.
By making the claim that Hillary will win her party’s nomination, Bush can count upon the liberals to automatically — and, in all likelihood, without thinking — to argue that he’s wrong, to say there’s no way Hillary will win and to do everything within their power to influence events so that the president can be proven wrong.
If, with the help of their accomplices in the mainstream news media, the liberals succeed in proving the president wrong, someone like Barack Obama or John Edwards will win the Democrat Party nomination. If that happens, I believe, the Republican nominee — whomever that turns out to be — will have a much easier time winning the White House again in 2008.

Since alleged “progressives” will do physically impossible gymnastics to avoid being seen to agree with Bush on anything, I think you’re right ;-)

Hillary is the GOPs worst nightmare because she can win regardless of the village clowns predictions.
