Congress Needs to Learn About ‘GUTS’

November 1st, 2007 · 6 Comments

I doubt the late Dr. Seuss would worry that I took liberties with his pre-World War II comic above, because it represents how many Americans feel about others who would prefer the United States take a kinder, gentler approach to waging a borderless War on Terror and for dealing with one of the tyrants funding it — Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

If you agree with me, help me out by pointing me in the direction of a vendor who can provide me with a supply of GUTS that can be overnighted to Washington, D.C., for immediate distribution to 435 members of Congress.

Hat tip to Lt. Listener at the relatively new blog, America Matters.

You’re shouting in an empty chamber, when you stay to the left side of the aisle in Congress that they need to learn about ‘guts’. Confused as they are, they look at Ted Kennedy, and think “we know how to get those kinda guts already..”.

    Bob thanks.

The left is like water, they always follow the path of least resistance. Its “easier” to take the phoney noble utopian road against the enemy and to appease them, rather than fight and win out right.

What the left doesn’t realize is that you can’t make friends with a snake, snakes don’t love you back.

    Thx. Lt. Listener

You really should look into Robert Pape’s book Dying to win. They attack us because we’re over there. The Old Right was staunchly noninterventionist, and as such there is roots in the GOP for a noninterventionist foreign policy. Historically, it was the Left that got us into wars, such as WWI, WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. All started by Dems.

Don — Anymore, I don’t think there’s much difference between the “left” and the “right” — at least most of them anyway. As a former Air Force officer, believe you me, I’m noninterventionist mos of the time, except when doing nothing acts as an open invitation to invite Islamic radicals to our shores.
