Huckabee would be a good VP for Ron Paul. I think that's the ticket - there I agree with you Bobby boy. (con cariño)

Huckabee has one problem, even though being an orthedox conservative, he uses terminology and phrases tings in a way that many on the right find uncomfortable. He is hard to pin down on fiscal issues and has little name reconition. However he is the best communicator in the race in that he can sell ideas to the American people. He has the best shot at beating Hillary and too be able to strong arm the American people thanks to his ability to go right to them and win them over. He will dominate independant voters.
This is good for social conservatives because he has a very common sense approach to issue such as marriage and abortion. Also he has a more conservative fiscal record than Reagan did when he was California Governor. He can win blue states and would dominate the south and midwest as needed. His economic populism could win Michigan and Ohio as well.
Really it is a race against the clock for him to get more traction in Iowa and south Carolina against Romney and Thompson.
remember that Reagan, Carter, and Clinton were all longshots in their respective primaries.

Vets -- What Rudy has, more than anything, is name recognition. I'm not so sure he'll have actual votes come election day.

I am surprised that Rudy gets so little excitement on the web...but he has the votes of people who do not read the Internet.
The book "Crossing the Chasm" says that, if Ron Paul can move across the chasm between the smart young Internet denizens who mostly support him...and the slow late adopters, he can win.
But you have to want a massive amount of change to want Paul.
And if Ron Paul won the Presidency, he would still be up against a Democrat House and Senate who would oppose him on a lot of things.
