It appears New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer has succumbed to pressure from law-abiding Americans. According to a Fox News article this morning, the first-term Democrat has decided to abandon a plan to issue drivers licenses to illegal immigrants.

In much the same manner as the U.S. Senate backed away from so-called immigration reform legislation (a.k.a., “SHAMNESTY“) after being deluged with angry e-mails, phone calls and letters from constituents this summer, it appears Spitzer has taken to heart the message sent to him by the people of New York: NO LICENSES FOR ILLEGALS!
