Well – all you animal hunting supporters, put yourself in the bears position. The earth is over populated with humans. How would it be if someone bigger than us all started on us with weapons we don’t understand, like cancer, and we randomly were sentenced to death for no fault of our own…. you may think you are top of the tree and can treat animal life with contempt. Remember you are also an animal. Somehow I think I am wasting my time here.

no just BEYOND DISTURBED, people allways think that all people shoot animals for the fun of it. Obviously this person should do more research on hunting before pointing fingers at all hunters. I think that it is remarkable that this child had the guts to do it. And at least he didnt do this to some families cat or dog. This bear wasnt a pet .

I think if these stupid city people dont like hunters and hunting dont buy the news paper with it on the front page. If there were no hunters the animals or wild pets as u would rather them be would over populate get sick and die out faster then any hunter could wipe them out. Also people can consume bear meat if it is cooked well. Also teaching a five year old child the proper way to handle fire arms and to teach them disipline with nature and fire arms they grow up to respect it more.IE I have 3 boys 8 and under that go moose hunting, bear, elk, deer ,coyote ,chicken,and wildboar hunting just to name a few. You give a city kid a 22 caliber rifle and the first thing they would do is shoot someone or a pet. Not my kids they get a target, rest they aim take of SAFETY and shoot . So shove all that up the tailpipe and get back to your city duties.

I’m disgusted with people that kill for the pleasure of watching animals die but even more disgusted with people that let a 5 year old use a gun.

Also, yes black bears are protected in some areas as the above poster mentioned.
