I'm thinking, of course, of Karl Rove's dirty tricks (too too numerous to recount), the George Herbert Walker Bush lies about Dukakis, Mitt's recent bit about M.L. King, Huckabees's back-pedaling about the convict for whose release he lobbied (who went on to rape and kill, again), and of course, the most life-altering of all: "Iraq has WMD and if we don't invade immediately there will be mushroom clouds over the USA".
