Georgia Demolishes Hawaii in Sugar Bowl, 41-10

January 1st, 2008 · 2 Comments

Boy, did I get it wrong in the “Upset Special” portion of my bowl predictions post Monday. Gone is my hope that the Georgia Bulldogs might somehow lose to the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors in the Sugar Bowl and replace my Oklahoma Sooners in the minds of college football fans trying to think of the latest and most-surprising bowl upset victim.

Georgia BulldogsSpecifically, I predicted June Jones’ team would eek out a three-point win over the heavily-favored team from Athens, Ga. Instead, the Colt Brennan-lead islanders performed as many expected them to as a glimmer of light in an otherwise dimly-lit Western Athletic Conference, losing 41-10.

So much for upsets. They’re not so special this year — at least not tonight in New Orleans.

I congratulate the BOWS on making the Sugar Bowl; however, was wondering what excuses June Jones would make about their poor showing. I am all behind the team but think June Jones is a real a–hole.
