In less than seven hours, Republican Rudy Giuliani will make it official that he is out of the 2008 presidential race and is expected to throw his support behind GOP front-runner John McCain.

The announcement, according to a Fox News report, is scheduled for 5 p.m. Central at the Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, Calif. It follows the former New York City mayor’s third-place finish in the Florida Republican Primary and a year-long effort which produced finishes no higher than third place in any of the six previous GOP contests held to date.
