My hat’s off to Laura Ingraham on this Super Tuesday for sharing the news that Dr. James Dobson of Focus on the Family fame would not and could not support Republican John McCain for president. To hear audio of the news, click here.

My accolades for the venerable radio talk show host come almost six months after I published a post — Laura, Mike Huckabee is Dobson’s Logical Choice — in which I criticized her for failing “to mention the candidate most likely, in my opinion, to receive Dobson’s endorsement.” Though Ingraham remains — at least it seems to me she does — anti-Huckabee to this day, I’m pleased she took time today to share Dobson’s view of McCain with the world.

Though I was strongly pro-Huckabee and anti-Mitt Romney in September, I’ve resolved since then to support either Huckabee or Romney as the GOP nominee. Like Dobson, though, I cannot and will not vote for the white-haired senator from Arizona in either the primary or the general election.
