The alleged shooter in tonight’s Shooting in Kirkwood, Missouri, Charles Lee “Cookie” Thornton, had his First Amendment-based lawsuit against the city of Kirkwood, Mo., rejected Jan. 28 by U.S. District Judge Catherine D. Perry.
Earlier today, the First Amendment Center at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn., published an article — Federal court rejects council critic’s First Amendment claims — by David L. Hudson Jr. that outlines the case, Thornton v. City of Kirkwood.
