Surfing the web for the latest news, I visited the Fox News Channel web site around 7:40 p.m. Central and noticed immediately that something was wrong with the information on the cable news channel’s home page.
To the right of the major headlines of the moment, the words “Sayonara Cheesesteak” appeared superimposed over the photo of an unidentified man. The caption beneath the photo failed to identify the man and, instead, offered information about Amtrak Security. When I clicked on the photo of the still-unidentified man, it took me to an interesting story about a professional baseball player who was the victim of a prank. While both stories are interesting, it goes to show that even the news media “big boys” are human.
[Note: A few minutes later, the mistake was corrected and a photo of two heavily-armed men with the words, SECURING THE RAILS, appeared above the aforementioned caption.]
