What is Leap Day?
When I want to learn something about the significance of something that happened — or someone who did something — on a particular day in history, I often turn to Bill Federer and his daily resource, American Minute. Today, he tackles the subject, concluding his piece by writing the following:
Columbus predicted a lunar eclipse on FEBRUARY 29, 1504, and the frightened Indians quickly made peace. Columbus wrote: “My hope in the One who created us all sustains me: He is an ever-present help in trouble.”
