Climate Change Skeptics Gather in New York City

International Climate Change Conference Web Site

This morning’s headlines related to The 2008 International Conference on Climate Change taking place in New York City tell the story well:

Global Warming ‘Hysteria’ Is ClaimedNew York Sun

Climate skeptics roast Al Gore on global warming — Reuters UK

Global Warming: Is It Really a Crisis? — Fox News Channel

Unfortunately, not all of the headlines lead to anything. Case in point:

Global warming’s cool, skeptics tell the worldThe Seattle Post-Intelligencer (Interestingly, this article had been removed from the newspaper’s web site already despite, according to the Google News search results, having been posted only 11 hours ago. Perhaps, it was too objective for the PI’s editors and was given a quick “burial.”)

John Coleman stands among the select individuals basking in the conference spotlight. But don’t expect to see any coverage of his presentation on The Weather Channel. The founder of The Weather Channel, Coleman blasted the network for Telling Us What to Think:

“The Weather Channel had great promise, and that’s all gone now because they’ve made every mistake in the book on what they’ve done and how they’ve done it and it’s very sad,” said Coleman, who founded The Weather Channel in 1982, adding, “Let’s hope the new owners can recapture the vision and stop reporting the traffic, telling us what to think and start giving us useful weather information.”

In line with comments he made four months ago (see Weather Channel Founder: Warming a ‘SCAM’), he advocated suing Al Gore and the folks who sell carbon credits as a means to expose the fraud behind global warming alarmism.

GLOBULL WARMINGI’m 100 percent behind the idea. After all, I’ve said for a long time that the hogwash being peddled by Gore and his ilk is best described as GLOBULL WARMING.
