After reading an Evening Standard report today about the opening of the new T5 terminal at Heathrow Airport, I could only conclude that members of the U.S. Congress — including, but not limited to, liberal Democrats — must have been moonlighting in Great Britain during the past several years. Why? Because the phrases used by the British newspaper to describe the project — chaos, string of blunders, shambolic launch, and national humiliation — sounded a lot like the words Americans use to describe the work of their elected officials in Washington, D.C.
