Only days ahead of the 2007 Komen Race for the Cure event in St. Louis almost ten months ago, I published a post about two articles highlighting financial ties between the Susan G. Komen Foundation and Planned Parenthood. Now, with the 2008 version of the event barely two months away, I highlight an issue made public yesterday by the Catholic pro-life organization, American Life League.
“By giving money to Planned Parenthood, the Komen Foundation is defeating its own mission of defeating breast cancer,” says Marie Hahnenberg, ALL researcher, referring specifically to a recent Waco (Texas) Tribune-Herald editorial that attacked Pro-Life Waco’s new billboard as “false” and “specious.” The billboard ad draws a direct connection between abortion and breast cancer and then wonders why the Waco affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure would grant $45,000 to Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion chain.”
