The testimony of the federal government’s star witness in the trial of indicted political fixer Tony Rezko appears to contradict Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama’s past statements that he does not recall meeting Iraqi-born billionaire, Nadhmi Auchi, according to an ABC News report. In other words, it appears that yet another high-brow politician has succumbed to the ravages of Partzheimer’s.

Also known as Convenient Memory-Loss Syndrome, Partzheimer’s is a rare form of memory loss that affects those in the public spotlight more than any other group — especially when they are speaking under oath or undergoing severe scrutiny from members of the news media and undecided voters. Unfortunately, experts say, age is not a factor in the disease and cases can go undiagnosed for years.

Somewhat surprising is the fact that Partzheimer’s receives virtually no attention from the mainstream news media. In the blogosphere, only Bob McCarty Writes seems to give it attention on a regular basis.

Most recently, this blogger highlighted Hillary Clinton’s ongoing battle with the disease in a pair of posts March 25: New Video Proves Hillary Not Responsible for Lie! and Hillary Not A Liar, She’s A Victim!

Other politicians, former politicians and high-level government officials have had their bouts with the disease documented in this blog as well. They include Al Gore, Jimmy Carter, Alberto Gonzalez and John McCain. Possible treatments for the disease have received their fair share of attention here as well.

One question remains: How will voters react knowing that all three major presidential candidates have shown signs of Alzheimer’s?  The answer to that question will surface soon.
