Eighteen years ago, a movie called ARACHNOPHOBIA exploited the phobia characterized by an abnormal and persistent fear of spiders. Today, I believe another phobia with a similar name deserves big-screen treatment. It is baracknophobia and, though not abnormal, it is persistent and contagious.

Baracknophobia is the common-sense and persistent fear of a Barack Obama presidency.

People who suffer from arachnophobia experience undue anxiety even though they realize the risk of encountering a spider and being harmed by it is small or nonexistent. Conversely, those who suffer from baracknophobia experience justifiable anxiety, the type that surfaces when they realize an election outcome they once thought impossible (i.e., an Obama presidency) might indeed come to fruition.

If you suffer from baracknophobia, fear not. As a result of Rush Limbaugh’s OPERATION CHAOS and Obama’s own campaign missteps, Hillary Clinton has been able to remain in the heated race for the Democratic Party nomination. Now, Americans like you — people who are serious about conquering baracknophobia — need only contribute to the campaign of Republican John McCain to ensure this phobia is rendered inert by the first Tuesday of November (or earlier).
