Many world leaders have been older and lived a long time. Nelson Mandela comes to mind. He also suffered imprisonment and torture for 27 years. Yet his people felt his wisdom was more important than anything else – he became president of South Africa at 77 and at 89 founded the Council of elders – a group of elder statesmen to help in situations of crisis. This he did last year.
