Despite death threats and an organized campaign to prevent him from speaking publicly, Larry Sinclair (right) says in a news release earlier today that on June 18 at 2 p.m. (Eastern) he will, for the first time, reveal the corroborating evidence for his claim that on Nov. 6 and 7, 1999, he met Barack Obama at a gay bar where Obama arranged for the purchase of federal Schedule II drugs which he and Obama thereafter ingested before engaging in high-risk, homosexual activities.
On Wednesday, according to the news release, Sinclair will:
Reveal the corroborating evidence for his allegations regarding Obama;
- Address the time line of the response of the Obama campaign to his allegations and the murder of Donald Young, the openly gay choir director of Trinity United Church of Christ, Obama’s now-former church; and
- Address the significance of the refusal of U.S. District Court Judge Henry H. Kennedy, Jr. to allow Larry’s case to proceed.

EDITOR’S NOTE: Until this point in the 2008 presidential race, I’ve avoided any mention of Sinclair and his allegations — contained in this video posted Jan. 18, 2008 — of same-sex activities and illegal drug use with the prospective Democratic Party presidential nominee. Today, in light of the fact that the video has been viewed nearly one-million times, I feel obligated to report these claims and encourage you to follow this story (i.e., “I report. You decide.”).

I hope there is something to this. But it has been out there for a long time. This guy will have to bring forth some kind of proof, other than his word, before anyone is really going to take it seriously.
However, the murder of Donald Young, the openly gay choir director of Trinity United Church of Christ, is something that peeks the curiosity also.
I look forward to hearing what happens today. Keep us informed, I probably won’t have time to watch the news conference.

I don’t believe anything that Sinclair says. I’m for McCain and wouldn’t vote for Obama under any circumstances, but I have to agree with Mark’s assessment.

I followed fairly closely the Larry Sinclair story, and I do agree with you on your two points:
a- not to publish this item until now; and
b- to reserve judgment until more facts are known.
As to point b, Mr. Sinclair seems to be perfectly sane and smart. That’s all I can assert from reading his blog.
I’m glad this item did not emerge from the blogosphere while Mrs. Clinton was still in the race.

I’ll agree that there are some gay people who are sane and smart. But I still think it is gross for someone to do what this guy apparently is doing: “kissing and telling”. I’m inclined to think that if what Sinclair is saying is true, then he did “it” purposely so he could “brag about it” afterwards (and try to damage BO’s reputation, such as it is), rather than because he likes “dark meat” (ha ha ha). In other words, he tricked his victim into … whatever. Pretty sleazy in my book. If Sinclair did it because he’s “that way”, then I think he has to be a psycho, trying to hurt someone who (presumably) didn’t hurt him (and I’m not talking about a little discomfort “down there” either – ha ha ha). Still gross in my book. If “the right” needs sleazes like this to prove a point, then it’s in worse shape than I thought.
