A new drug is said to be more than twice as effective as current treatments, according to a Daily Mail Online report today. In fact, British scientists say, it halts the devastating progress of Alzheimer’s disease. Wow! That sounds good and all, but will it be effective against Partzheimer’s.

Partzheimer’s (a.k.a., Convenient Memory-Loss Syndrome) is the rare form of memory loss that seems to affect individuals in the public spotlight — notably, politicians, entertainers, athletes and the like — especially when they are speaking under oath. Unfortunately, cases can go undiagnosed for years.

During the last two-plus years, I’ve highlighted the cases of several well-known politicians who’ve exhibited signs of Partzheimer’s. Among them, Hillary Clinton, John McCain, Alberto Gonzalez, Al Gore and, most recently, Barack Obama.

As much as I’d like to believe this new drug might help politicians and other public figures remember things, I doubt seriously that it will.  Therefore, we’ll have to work hard to keep people around the world aware of this disease by sporting Partzheimer’s t-shirts like the one shown.
