Barack Obama Plays ‘Guess My Weight’ Game

August 1st, 2008 · 5 Comments

Obama waffles on his weight.

Obama plays "Guess my weight!" with voters.

Another example of Barack Obama‘s inability to give an answer to a question — and stand by it — surfaced today. In a Wall Street Journal article this morning, the presumptive Democratic Party presidential nominee appears to be playing the guess-my-weight game with voters.

In the article, writer Amy Chozick addresses the question, “Is Barack Obama too fit to be president?” Accompanying the article is a graphic — a portion of which appears at right — which highlights the heights and weights of five former presidents as well as those of John McCain and Obama.

Obama was the only one of the seven individuals featured in the graphic whose weight appeared as a range instead of a specific number. My guess is that this man — reportedly a daily exerciser whose weight shouldn’t fluctuate much — is incapable of telling the truth.

Whether its a simple question about his weight or a more complex question about key national security, foreign policy and economic issues, he seems incapable of giving an answer and sticking with it. Examples of his flip-flop approach are highlighted in this video.

In the article, Ms Chozick also uses a verbatim quote from the McCain manager -

There are also questions over that quote she included, which to many people looks like she faked the Yahoo ID and created the quote herself, given that the only comment that person has ever made is on that board in response to her question – and more importantly, both the Chozick Yahoo ID and the respondee’s Yahoo ID were created on the same day.

Nothing like making up a story for the lulz, eh?

    Interesting, Jodes. Very interesting.

How imprudent and insipid are you? Allow me to propose this question, sir: What does a president’s weight have to do with his ability to run a country? Maybe that is why this country is on a downward spiral. We, as voters, place significance on the impertinent yet are blind to truth.

I can revere the dissent of others to another’s politics if they can propose a valid reason for doing so. This nation was built upon dissent from the injustices among us and has thrived from the apostates doing such. Yet to castigate one for not disclosing their weight is irrelevant to the cause.

    Peace and love,
    Cody

itcodyxx — The point is this: Obama can’t give specific answers to even the most benign questions, so how can we expect him to lead on much more important issues than his weight? We can’t!

Are you seriously going to attack Obama for changing his positions? Since his opponent is McCain, I don’t think you really want to go there!

    :)

This ‘question’ of weight exists only in the fevered imagination of a partisan reporter, and nobody else cares.
