		<description>As I understand it, an EMP attack would disable semiconductors.   I&#039;m old enough to remember when the US had 180,000,000 prosperous happy people and no semiconductors (they hadn&#039;t been invented yet).   I can see that an EMP attack could be quite disruptive, but I doubt it would have the type of consequences you describe.</description>
