‘Why Are You Targeting the Black Community?’

August 20th, 2008 · 6 Comments

“Why are you targeting the black community, Planned Parenthood?” That’s the question pro-life activists will be asking when they gather in Denver Monday.  According to a news release issued by Colorado Right to Life, participants will decry black genocide — in the form of abortion — during events organized to coincide with the Democratic National Convention.

Colorado Right to Life and American Right to Life will stand with black leaders from around the country at their Power in the Park rally and press conference at 8:30 a.m. at Martin Luther King Park, one block from the largest Planned Parenthood abortuary in the nation.

The list of speakers includes presidential candidate Dr. Alan Keyes with America’s Independent Party, Jessie Lee Peterson, president of BOND, Rev. Clenard Childress of Blackgenocide.org and others.

Of note, Denver’s Bishop Phillip Porter, former chairman of Promise Keepers, will expose a particularly-egregious tragedy — that although black women comprise only six percent of the population, they receive nearly 40 percent of the abortions in America. Plus, he’ll explain that the leading abortion providers exploit blacks by placing 94 percent of abortuaries in urban neighborhoods with high black populations.

Black leaders, including Alveda King, niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, have recently been asking why black Americans are being targeted by Planned Parenthood for abortions and demanding that the killing stop.

Dr. Keyes, in fact, relates his revulsion about Denver’s new abortion mill:

“The number one taker of black life is abortion, and it’s time people woke up to that fact. The location of this latest Planned Parenthood facility in yet another minority neighborhood is a part of the continuing fulfillment of the racist, eugenicist dream of their founder, Margaret Sanger, but it is a travesty of the American dream. Planned Parenthood’s agenda discards the principle that we are all created equal, which is the basis of liberty for all Americans.”

I hope they put this question to Barack Obama, or Barry Soetoro, or whatever his name is, until he screams.

One stat I’ve seen is that for every two black babies born in the U.S., another one is aborted. That’s right: a 33-percent kill rate. And given that the black community is estimated to be about 13 percent of the total population, those are devastating numbers.

I’ve also read that a black woman is five times more likely to have an abortion that a white woman.

Barack Obama, champion of infanticide and the killing of the just-born to protect the constitutional rights of the mother, supports the very genocide against a people he’s so desparately tried to be a part of–and which so blindly now support him.

Wonder if they would if they knew the real story behind this evil, baby-hating fascist?

So, umm, white people don’t get abortions? What about the Hispanics??? Who is killing them?

Last time I checked abortion is still a personal choice until the Right takes that freedom away.

How can something that is TOTALLY optional be unfairly targeting a specific race? Are people forcing African American women to get abortions at a higher rate than whites?

Oh and why are Abortion clinics more likely to be found in Urban areas? Ever heard of supply and demand? You know free market theory? Thought the Republicans were supposed to be up on that strategy. If the majority of abortions are found in Urban areas why would I build an abortion clinic in an area where they are unlikely.

Here’s an idea. Why not try fixing the education system in this country so it works and our youth and our women are more apt to make smart decisions before they get in trouble and are more prepared to handle the ramifications. Nope lets just blame racial bias. Give this up…

Slade — Note who this information came from: National Black Republicans Association. As for education, I agree wholeheartedly that it needs reformed. As for racial bias, the only bias around here appears to be yours.

So the National Black Republican Association claiming that “Abortion clinics are exploiting blacks” is not a matter of racial bias?

And where is my racial bias when it is my position that it is merely circumstantial or phenomenon that black women account for “nearly 40% of all abortions.”

Because the act of an abortion is completely optional and a matter of personal choice then how can abortion clinics be “exploiting blacks”? This is free market principal. If it is not rocket science to know that lower income urban areas with poor education systems generate more unwanted pregnancies than other areas. Knowing that if I want to open an Abortion Clinic why would I do so in an affluent area with few potential clients?

This is capitalism at it’s finest here. There is no racial bias even though they are trying to spin it as so. No one is forcing anyone to get an abortion. It is at this time still a choice.

To support this argument furthers such similar arguments that AIDS was manufactured to attack the African American community because they are hit hard by the disease as well.

Racial bias? No. Economic situation. Most likely.

Slade — NBRA is merely dealing with statistics. It’s the Planned Parenthood ghouls who target black communities and, yes, they do it for the money. My reason for posting this article, regardless of whether you call the abortion situation racially- or economically-based, is based upon the need to get rid of all factors that promote abortions. If you differ with me on that, then we’ll have to agree to disagree.

  • 6 Slade // Aug 29, 2008 at 9:09 pm

But thats just it. They are making the issue racial. It’s one thing to say abortion is wrong. Fine. I am Pro Choice so yes we will have to agree to disagree. However this article is more than that. it is saying that beyond abortion being bad that it’s also somehow racially motivated. In other words it seems clear they are trying to pray on a manufactured race war to gain support when there is no issue.

It is accepted in the statistics that many African Americans live in Urban areas as well as many other races and/or minorities. Since these Urban areas generally have the highest rates of individuals seeking abortion then they would be fools not to operate there.

So again it’s why I contest the article. This is more than abortion=bad. It’s basically spin to try and say, “Hey support us because not only is abortion bad it’s also a racist.”
