Moments ago, I watched with interest as Republican politico Karl Rove offered his assessment of Joe Biden as Barack Obama’s running mate to Fox News Channel’s Chris Wallace.
A longtime campaign strategist and former deputy chief of staff for President George W. Bush, Rove said Biden’s weaknesses include the following:
- Biden tends to exaggerate;
- Biden has a tendency to stick his foot in his mouth; and
- Like John McCain, who has been severely criticized by Obama for voting for the Iraq War, Biden voted for the Iraq War.
Rove noted Biden’s strengths as follows:
- Biden is an effective attack dog;
- Biden is passionate; and
- Biden has credibility on the topic of foreign affairs.
It’s going to be interesting to see how the last two-plus months of the election season pan out.

Rove put it best wth this simple breakdown of Biden. I recently read an articele on Biden that stated if he was born anywhere else, other than the North East, he would be a moderate Republican. This rings very true.
The way I see Biden with the Obama ticket is “yawn.” As of right now, Biden doesn’t hurt his ticket, but he isn’t some epic change monger. Blustery gaffes aside, I don’t think he will help it either.
