During his speech at the 2008 Democratic National Convention in Denver tonight, the ailing Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.) said two things that sounded odd to me.
First, he bellowed about the Democratic mantra of “affordable health care for all” as if Republicans are against it. Doesn’t he realize that, until ordinary Americans can access health care services equal to or greater than that afforded members of Congress, most Americans will regard speeches like his as empty political rhetoric?
Second, he talked about the leadership role played by his brother, President John F. Kennedy, in sending a man to the moon and then drifted into some rah-rah rhetoric about the space program. For Barack Obama’s sake (though I’m really not worried about it), I hope Kennedy checked with Obama before hyping the space issue. After all, the Houston Chronicle reported the following one week ago:
Obama has not always been a strong supporter of additional money for NASA. Indeed, in December 2007, his campaign Web site declared that he would finance an early childhood education initiative by reducing funding for the Constellation program. And Obama told the Houston Chronicle’s editorial board in February that he was not convinced that human exploration was worth the cost.
Nothing profound here, but I couldn’t resist letting the world know when my horse-hockey detector sounded an alarm.

Did you see the Bunk study stating 2/3 of doctors in America want National Health Care. The doctors who did this study also conducted one in 2002 and found that the majority of doctors did not want national health care, the problem with this is that the 2 question surveys drastically differ in there 2nd question. I found this article, 60% of Physicians Surveyed Oppose Switching to a National Health Care Plan, It’s worth a read.
