If the words above — part of an e-mail sent out by people working for Barack Obama (a.k.a., “Obamaniacs”) — are indicative of the beliefs held by the candidate, one might surmise that the Democratic Party presidential nominee does not believe in free speech and does believing in bullying radio stations.
The e-mail in question was sent to Obama supporters via the campaign’s Obama Action Wire and implores them to call Chicago’s WGN radio station and “Tell WGN that by providing Kurtz with airtime, they are legitimizing baseless attacks from a smear-merchant and lowering the standards of political discourse.”
Kurtz, in this case, is Stanley Kurtz, a contributing editor at National Review Online.
Again according to the Obama Action Wire e-mail, Kurtz is scheduled to “spend a solid two-hour block from 9-11 p.m. pushing lies, distortions, and manipulations about Barack and University of Illinois professor William Ayers” when he appears as a guest on Extension 720 with Milt Rosenberg tonight on Chicago’s WGN radio.
Ayers, in case you don’t remember, is the former member of the radical Weather Underground domestic terror group with whom Obama has had a long-term relationship (For details, see Obama-Ayers Relationship Focus of New Video).
If you support First Amendment rights and want Kurtz — via WGN — to speak the truth about Obama, I encourage you to do two things:
- First, call into the show at (312) 591-7200 and share your support; and
- Second, pretend you’re an Obama supporter and, per instructions in the e-mail, report back on your call at http://my.barackobama.com/WGNstandards.”
Your country thanks you.
