I heard a lot of liberal noise during Barack Obama’s nomination acceptance speech at Denver’s Mile High Stadium tonight.
It began with what I must assume was either a giant sucking-up sound made by Obama as he opened his nomination acceptance speech with a thank you to Hillary Clinton or the sound of the Gustav, the hurricane Democrats want so badly to hit New Orleans just in time for next week’s Republican National Convention.
Wearing a union-made suit complete with what must have been the smallest American flag lapel pin ever made, Obama provided exactly what members of the kool-aid-drinking crowd inside Denver’s Mile High Stadium wanted to hear — something Rush Limbaugh once described as “symbolism over substance.”
Perhaps the single biggest gaffe of the speech, Obama offered this line — tailor-made for use by John McCain — about three-quarters of the way through his speech:
“If you don’t have a record to run on, then you paint your opponent as someone people should run from.”
Below is a breakdown of the rest of the nearly 4,800 words used in his speech:
- He mentioned “work” 35 times, “McCain” 21 times and “change” and “country” 16 times each;
- He uttered “Washington” 10 times, “war” and “Democrats” 9 times each and “Bush” and “education” 8 times each;
- The words “Iraq” and “Republican” crossed his lips 7 times each while “health care” was mentioned six times;
- Three words — taxes, companies and women –were mentioned five times each;
- Three social issues-related words — gay and lesbian, abortion and scripture — received one mention each; and finally
- Notably, energy-related words — clean coal, drilling, energy, foreign oil, fuel and natural gas — combined to receive fewer than 10 mentions.

John — Read the Bible. You’ll learn so much and not be afraid anymore if you take the advice contained within.

hotofthepress…..the bible is pure fiction (noah’s ark, garden of eden, emaculate conception)…..i’d find more truth in reading a comic book……contained within.

John — We’ll have to agree to disagree. Unfortunately for you, the decision will impact you forever. I hope you’ll soften your heart and reconsider.
