The 2008 Republican National Convention in St. Paul returned to normal by featuring a heavyweight lineup of speakers, including First Lady Laura Bush, President George W. Bush, former Sen. Fred Thompson of Tennessee and Democrat-turned-Independent Sen. Joe Lieberman of Connecticut.
