Obama Can’t Afford Apartment Near Columbia

September 11th, 2008 · 4 Comments

During tonight’s 9/11 Presidential Forum at Columbia University in New York City, Barack Obama didn’t disappoint anyone who appreciates dishonesty.  Amidst an endless stream of “uhs” and “ahs” interspersed with his responses to questions, the Democratic Party presidential nominee even had the nerve to begin his portion of the question-and-answer session with a plea of poverty.

It’s true.  After noting that things had changed a lot in the neighborhoods near Columbia University — his alma mater — since the day he arrived there in 1980, he said he probably couldn’t afford an apartment near the university now.  Puh-leeeze!!

According to a Los Angeles Times report earlier this year, the Obama’s reported income of $1.65 million in 2005 and nearly $1 million in 2006.  If, while making that kind of money, he can’t afford an apartment near Columbia University, I’d say he’s either lying or he simply can’t manage a budget.

No wonder everyone likes Sarah Palin better than Obama!  She’s honest!

I guess he never heard that people use public or private transportation to get them to and from work. And this guy says he was a community organizer.
