In the wake of this weekend’s terrorist strike upon the Marriott Hotel in Islamabad, Pakistan, new poll results released by The Chicago Council on Global Affairs this morning show significant support among the American public for rooting out and going after terrorist leaders in their Pakistani hideouts:
Asked what the United States should do if it locates high-ranking members of terrorist groups that threaten the United States operating in Pakistan, 68 percent believed the United States should take military action to capture or kill these terrorists even if the government of Pakistan does not give the permission to do so.
Interestingly, the news above appeared at the end of the news release issued by the group which describes itself as “a leading independent, nonpartisan organization committed to influencing the discourse on global issues through contributions to opinion and policy formation, leadership dialogue, and public learning.”
