There is probably a lot of other bad financial news which will emerge in the next few days.

10,000 jobs lost in New York City’s financial sector in the last few weeks. The financial sector is a very important one revenue-wise for New Yorkers.

I’m not a big fan of John McCain, but even less so of BHO.

My guess, though, is that J.M. approaches this financial debacle much like war: he’d rather lose an election than win a debate – or let wall street crumble.

And the fundamentals of this economy ~are sound. It’s our bloated, pork barrel, obtuse gub’mint that SVX.

Service & tech industries strong; Exports up; low unemployment (yes, 6% is normal); Machine tools & durable goods steady; commercial banking is first rate .

It’s the wall street financial/investment nitwits squandering other people’s money through congress’ meddling that brought us to this cliff.

I will say that one of the lone voices of reason through the years on this train wreck in slow motion has been McCain. Perhaps he can get to D.C. before the dimbulbs in congress can screw it up even more.

Why am I not surprised? This is exactly what one would expect a senator of McCain’s stature to do. “Country First” is indeed the motto by which he lives. How sad that others would mock his announcement as being politically motivated.
