A report published by the Business & Media Institute this morning scolds the mainstream news media for being “mum” on what writer Jeff Poor describes as Rep. Barney Frank’s “Fannie Mae love connection.” Here’s a snippet:
Prominent Democrats ran Fannie Mae, the same government-sponsored enterprise (GSE) that donated campaign cash to top Democrats. And one of Fannie Mae’s main defenders in the House – Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., a recipient of more than $40,000 in campaign donations from Fannie since 1989 – was once romantically involved with a Fannie Mae executive.
With folks like Congressman Frank, an openly-gay Massachusetts Democrat, and Barack Obama (see Obama Tops List of Bought-and-Paid-For Politicians) on “the take,” we shouldn’t be surprised at how the Democrats failed to act on the mess they made of the nation’s financial markets.

No surprises here: Frank’s corruption, or the media’s efforts to shield him from voter wrath. I’d bet Freddie Mac isn’t all that’s in bed with Barney…prolly Keith Olbermann, too.
