After last night’s presidential debate in Oxford, Miss., every news web site seems to have a poll, asking who won. Of course, some are biased, some are not. In reality, none of the results really surprised me.
Not surprisingly, the MSNBC online poll showed Obama won with 80 percent. That was probably either a product of MSNBC’s audience skewing to the left or the result of Keith Olbermann having so little to do that he spends his post-debate hours doing nothing but casting pro-Obama votes on the cable network’s web site.
The Fox News Channel’s online poll showed McCain won, 51-49. Why? Think “fair and balanced.”
Even better, a poll at the Drudge Report has consistently shown McCain with a solid 2-1 lead.
So when I found the AOL News online poll (above right) which showed McCain both winning and appearing “most presidential” by four points, I must say that I was pleasantly surprised.
