At first blush, I was upset with Fox Television Network’s plan to allow an episode of The Simpsons to air two days prior to the Nov. 4 election.  Now I’m not.  Why?  Because the episode features Homer Simpson voting for Barack Obama and then getting punished for it.

In the cartoon, Homer is punished by a voting machine.  In the real world, Americans like him who vote for Obama will be punished by another type of machine — the political machine that receives its power from crooked politicians in Chicago — via increases in taxes and regulation and decreases in freedom and national security.
