Recently, my oldest son sent e-mails to three members of Missouri’s delegation in Washington, D.C., telling them to “Vote ‘No’ on the bailout!” While pleased with my recent high school graduate and soon-to-be first-time presidential voter for getting involved in the political process — and without any prodding from me! — I was more pleased with how his e-mail program handled their replies:
- Republican Rep. Todd Akin replied on Oct. 9 without incident;
- GOP Sen. Kit Bond has not replied; and
- Democrat Sen. Claire McCaskill, a member of Barack Obama‘s traveling circus, replied today. Remarkably, her message — the header of which appears below — was flagged by my son’s e-mail program as “Mail thinks this message is Junk Mail,” proving that even a computer software program can “smell a rat” disguised as a politician.
