Thanks to members of the liberal mainstream news media, most Americans know more about Joe “Joe the Plumber” Wurzelbacher than about Barack “The One” Obama.
We know where Joe lives (i.e., Holland, Ohio), what he does for a living (i.e., the plumbing business) and what he would do regarding taxes were he to run for office (i.e., not raise them). Conversely, a lot of people are not convinced they know where Obama is from (see here and here), what experience he has and how his tax plans will affect American families and small business owners.
To show how bad things have gotten, even the National Enquirer appears to be in the tank for Obama, going so far as to write that Joe — real name “Samuel Joseph Warzelbacher” — is the son of the son of Robert Wurzelbacher – the son-in-law of Charles Keating – The Charles Keating of the Keating 5 scandal – for which Sen. John McCain was reprimanded by the Senate for his part in attempting to illegally influence government regulators, according to the ultra-liberal Huffington Post blog.
Nowhere does the Enquirer or HuffPo mention what the Zanesville (Ohio) Times did in a recent report that McCain was exonerated by the Senate Ethics Committee.
Further, the two publications failed to report that the committee’s “rebuke” of McCain was issued only because the Democrat-controlled Congress needed a Republican to take some heat over the matter. Otherwise, only Democrats would have been named.
Finally, they failed to report what then-special prosecutor in the case said 17 years ago about the man who is now the Republican presidential nominee:
“I investigated John McCain for a year and a half … and if there is one thing I am absolutely confident of, it is John McCain is an honest man.” — Bob Bennett, “Keating Five” special prosecutor, 1991
That comment tells me all I need to know about McCain.

I see that the liberal media is now piling on and tearring apart Joe the Plumber; it’s a glaringly evident example of how scared the liberals are of people like him, and how the media wants to intimidate others like him into silence.
Ain’t gonna happen, cretins.

So let me get this straight… a man walks up to Obama, lies about his profession, lies about his income, lies about his business plans, lies about whether Obama’s proposed tax cuts would hurt or benefit him, and turns out to be a tax evader anyway, and McCain holds him up as some sort of hero… and it’s the “liberal media’s” fault for reporting on this obvious deception?
Paranoid, much?

Mike — You say Obama was talking to himself? Yes, that is disturbing.

Why does anyone believe this crap about joe the “plumber” anyway? McCain brought him up a million times, not obama. The press investigated him for that reason. Also, what exactly is wrong with getting rid of bush’s tax cuts?? thats really all the plan calls for – getting rid of those tax cuts for people who make over 250k a year. so an extra 4 percent tax on PROFITS of 250k+ is going to kill small business? business seems to have been pretty OK before the tax cuts. Now where are we? wake up people.
Nobody seems to be concerned with taxing the hell out of companies who provide health care – as mccain wants to do.

Jason — Your tie-dye t-shirt must be five sizes too small as it seems to be cutting off the flow of oxygen to your attic.
