Former Secretary of State and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Collin Powell showed his true colors this morning when he endorsed Barack Obama for president of the United States.
Powell, a pro-choice RINO (Republican In Name Only), fired an unbelievable round of shots over the bow of John McCain’s Straighttalk Express. In addition to claiming the Republican nominee and his running mate were responsible for fostering rumors about Obama’s Muslim background and association with people like Bill Ayers, he said the negativity of the McCain campaign aided him in making this decision.
What Powell conveniently chose to ignore is the fact that McCain has consistently asked his supporters to avoid engaging in smears and mudslinging.
Regardless, McCain still owns a large number of substantial endorsements, including:
- Four former secretaries of state — Henry Kissinger, retired Gen. Alexander Haig, Lawrence Eagleburger and George Shultz;
- 100 ambassadors; and
So what’s behind Powell’s endorsement of a socialist who wants to “spread the wealth around” by raising taxes? A job, plain and simple.

I recently read the following comment from Stars and Stripes, dated 22 Oct 08. Colin Powell’s words “There is no reason a new Africa can’t be created right here and now.” These words were said at the Africa Rising Festival at the Royal Albert Hall in London. You determine what is being said.

Attention: John McKnight — Remove the profanity from the Bob-hating comment you submitted, and I might (no guarantees, mind you) moderate it into existence.
