Barack Obama’s Believing His Press Clippings

Throughout the 2008 presidential campaign season, many have referred — often half-joking — to Barack Obama as “The One” and “The Obamessiah.”  A look at his brief track record would have you believe he doesn’t listen to experts who caution celebrities by saying, “Don’t believe your press clippings.”

The video above features audio clips from a 1995 interview of Barack Obama about his book, Dreams From My Father.  In it, Obama says, “…my individual salvation is not going to come about without a collective salvation for the country.” It does?

Earlier this month, the Democratic Party presidential nominee finished his brief remarks before a multiracial congregation in Greenville, S.C., by saying, “We’re going to keep on praising together. I am confident that we can create a Kingdom right here on Earth.” Really?
