It’s Okay to Use Obama Tactics to Influence the Vote

October 28th, 2008 · No Comments

The headline of one blog post screams about Obama Robbing the Cradle for Votes, while the meat of another post — written by a stay-at-home, pro-life, mother-of-two blogger — includes this observation:I’ve noticed before that the left seems to have an affinity for attempting to subvert the minds of young children and teenagers, and to turn them against their parents.”

After reading the aforementioned posts and others, I’m convinced that it’s okay for Americans on the right side of the political aisle to use tactics similar to those used by Barack Obama — that is, reaching out to parents through their children — in an attempt to influence the outcome of the presidential election next week.  A good time to start would be this weekend.

When kids, decked out in their cute, colorful and imaginative Halloween costumes, arrive at your front door and scream, “Trick or treat,” you can give them more than just goodies.  You can give them something they will likely show to their parents or something their parents might find amidst the empty candy wrappers on the floor.  Something that might convince those parents that John McCain is the right person to serve as president of the United States.

It can be something mass produced that you get from your local Republican Party Headquarters or, better yet, it can be something you put together that expresses your heartfelt beliefs about the options available to Americans on election day.

Personally, I’m going to print out hundreds of miniature “campaign signs” like the graphic above and tape one to every piece of candy handed out.

If you’re so inclined, feel free to use the graphic above and do the same.  This election is far too important for any of us to miss out on every available opportunity to sway our fellow citizens.
