Two of Three Superstitions Yield McCain Victory

While researching Barack Obama’s superstitions for a post published earlier today, I found an entry at Yahoo Answers that offered Three Superstitious Reasons Why Barack Obama Will Lose the Presidential Election.  Though not superstitious myself, I thought it worth sharing that John McCain should win today if, that is, two out of three superstitions below are to be believed:

1. Family Circle Magazine holds a cookie recipe contest every election cycle for the candidates spouses to enter. The readers vote on the best recipe, the winner of the contest usually goes on to win the presidential election. This year, the oatmeal-butterscotch cookie recipe submitted by Cindy McCain won!

2. The winner of the Washington Redskins game just prior to the election has proved to be an accurate predictor of the presidential general election for 17 straight presidential election cycles. The game is tonight on Monday Night Football.   Unfortunately, the Redskins lost to Pittsburgh Steelers, 23-6.

3. Obama’s grandmother passed away just yesterday, one day prior to the general presidential election…..BAD OMEN. I don’t know where this one came from, but…. Again, I’m not superstitious.  Today, however, I’m willing to take any advantage possible.

    i am not supersticious either but the last time the phillies won the series reagan won the white house.
