In 1905, Spanish philosopher George Santayana made a famous observation: “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” Today, Rep. Paul Broun (R-Ga.) displayed his appreciation for Santayana’s wisdom by telling Associated Press he fears that President-elect Obama will establish a Gestapo-like security force to impose a Marxist or fascist dictatorship:
“It may sound a bit crazy and off base, but the thing is, he’s the one who proposed this national security force,” Rep. Paul Broun said of Obama in an interview Monday with The Associated Press. “I’m just trying to bring attention to the fact that we may — may not, I hope not — but we may have a problem with that type of philosophy of radical socialism or Marxism.”
Congressman Broun went on to cite a campaign speech Obama gave July 2 in Colorado Springs as responsible, in part, for his fears (see video below).
I applaud Congressman Broun for having the guts to share his concerns about Obama with the world. At the same time, I fear for his safety, in part, because Obama is an unknown quantity who used voter registration fraud and illegal campaign fundraising to seize power. Most worrisome, however, is the fact that Obama and his extremist-liberal cronies accomplished their goal of stealing the White House without firing a single shot…so far.

Absolutely amazing. I had given up hope that our country had any more heroes. Clearly this gentleman is one. Now if only others might come forward and add their voices to his concerns (AND ours…)
