Really? You can cite examples of blacks & hispanics committing the same kind of racial hate crimes against whites after Bush was elected as are being committed against black people who voted for Obama? Well, I say put your money where your mouth is. Post some links, lets see your evidence.

Actually yes, I do dispute your assertion.

We’re talking about racially motivated crimes here. There was no racial backlash from blacks or hispanics when George W Bush got elected. Were there people from the left that were unhappy? You bet. But I don’t recall anyone going & burning crosses on people’s lawns, or spraying racial epithets on people’s cars and sidewalks or starting pools on when Bush would be assassinated. You’re also trying to compare what has happened in a two week period to what has happened in an eight year period which is a little ridiculous.

And it’s not just what is being said about Obama. The people that voted for Obama have become targets based on their voting preference and, in some cases, based on their color. This also was not an issue when GWB was elected. I don’t remember hearing anything about blacks or hispanics going after white people because they voted for Bush, not to mention the huge jump in web traffic of white supremacist websites.

You’re attempting to compare apples to olives & it’s not even close. There’s been a fairly major backlash from some subsets of the white population since Obama was elected. There was nothing of the kind after GWB was elected. Yes, people on the left were unhappy when he got elected both times, but the same can be said about the right when Clinton was elected both times. If you want to try & make a comparison then try comparing incidents during the 8 years that GWB was president to incidents during the 8 years that Clinton was president.

thanks for your courtesy, and most of all your objectivity, and respectable manners are turly appreciated here.
I wish things could get debated in a similar fashion as you have displayed here: respect, fair, honest, and most of all no vulgarity.
It is such a turn-off, when some can’t even attempt to be civil in their discussion. It would be boring if we all agree, however reality is we all differ in our opinion.
That does not mean one is better than the other.
So thanks again, hotoffthepress, looking forward to your next hot topics, and opinions.

EM — I’m certain the frequency/severity of events/incidents like those in the linked article pale in comparison to what people on the left did/said to George W. Bush during the last eight years. You can’t even begin to dispute that!
