Today at American Thinker, I read what is perhaps the best piece to date on the subject of President-elect Barack Obama’s birth certificate and how it relates to his eligibility to serve as the nation’s 44th president.
Written by someone going by the pen name, Joe the Farmer, it appears some four months after I published my first post — one of 17 to date — on the subject. Rather than republish the entire chock-full-of-nuts post, however, I decided to highlight five items — four key points of the post (i.e., “the guts”) as well as the author’s conclusion — as an encouragement for you to read the complete post. Those five items appear below:
1. Under Hawaiian law, it is possible (both legally and illegally) for a person to have been born out of state, yet have a birth certificate on file in the Department of Health.
2. Contrary to what you may have read, no document made available to the public, nor any statement by Hawaiian officials, evidences conclusively that Obama was born in Hawaii.
3. It has been reported that the Kenyan government has sealed Obama’s records. If he were born in Kenya, as has been rumored even recently, the Kenyan government would certainly have many incentives to keep that undisclosed. Objectively, of course, those records may prove nothing. Obama’s refusal to release records at many levels here in the United States, though, merely fuels speculation.
4. Obama has refused to disclose the vault copy of his Hawaiian birth certificate. This raises the question whether he himself has established that he is eligible to be President. To date, no state or federal election official, nor any government authority, has verified that he ever established conclusively that he meets the eligibility standard under the Constitution. If the burden of proof were on him, perhaps as it should be for the highest office of any individual in America, the more-than-dozen lawsuits challenging his eligibility would be unnecessary.
His conclusion:
The question not being asked by the holders of power, who dismiss this as a rightwing conspiracy, is “What’s the downside of disclosing?” This is a legitimate issue of inquiry because Barack Obama has turned it into one. The growing number of people who demand an answer in conformance with the Constitution are doing their work; the people’s watchdogs aren’t.
Each of the five points above — accompanied by substantial documentation and links to source documents/web sites — appear at American Thinker today under the headline, Why the Barack Obama Birth Certificate Issue Is Legitimate. I strongly encourage you to read this post and then share it with others who, in the past, might have labeled you a member of the “tin foil hat crowd” for even bringing up the possibility that President-elect Obama lacks eligibility to serve as president of the United States.

Americans must be smoking crack to not take notice of what’s going on with this birth certificate issue.

Many thoughts nagging on me lately. I am wondering what the SC decides to do. Would they uphold the law, or would they give into popular demand. Would any of the justices be able to swear BO in, while doubts persist?
I wish I knew the answer, but I am not so sure anymore, since everything BO does, or says seems written on stone.
What is reqally going here? Who is pulling the strings, or who benefits from this sabotage of the constitution? My mind wonders.
I am a legal resident, and would never even consider such audacity to impose as perhaps a usurper.

anyone hear the spin on Obama may be the son of communist guy Marshall. Would like to hear more on that if anyone has news.
I think the republicans should get united and bombard the white house with all the info. we have.
Doesa this make sense?

mary h — The guy’s name is Frank Marshall Davis. I covered the possibility you’ve mentioned in an Oct. 23 post. Check it out!

Does the constitution mean anything? Do we really have a constitution. How come Obama law is above the constitution?

Obamba laws is not above the constitution unless the American citizens just sit by and let him change everything in our country. I have tried to write to my represenative but he seems to be ok with what ever and appears to be going along with whatever. I think these politicians are so lazy and don’t want to make wavres that America is going by the way side. It will be up to the American people to take a stand.

All of you need to grow up. Seriously. You are just a bunch of sore losers. Every time a Democrat win s the White House, he is attacked by the Right as illegitimate. We Democrats never did that until Bush 2000. But you did it to Carter, Clinton, and now Barry.
So please, build a bridge and get over it.

Dhalgren — Build a bridge? That would be irresponsible, like building a bridge to nowhere.

The only thing remarkable about the Obama-is-not-a-citizen lawsuits is how they have all gone down in flames.
Is America going to sit by and let Obama change the country? No, most people are going to stand and applaud. It is what we voted for.

Well here we are several months down the line and we now still have no proof of Obama’s credentials. Even the Democrats must be wondering why Obama simply doesn’t defuse the situation by showing his birth certificate. Why do the judiciary not bring this to an end? I started out believing this was a Republican nonsense but there is now too much smoke and one can only assume that Obama has no right to be President.
And what’s Obama doing bowing to the King of Saudia Arabia???? I don’t remember any President, Democrat or Republican, ever doing that before. What is going on in the US!
