Where’s the outcry?

After members of The Commission on the Prevention of WMD Proliferation and Terrorism reported in a news release today that “Ours remains a world at risk and our margin of safety is shrinking, not growing,” I fully expected my counterparts in Liberal City USA to be up in arms over such statements.  But they weren’t!

After reading former Sen. Bob Graham’s warning that “unless the world community acts decisively and with great urgency, it is likely that a weapon of mass destruction will be used in a terrorist attack somewhere in the world by the end of 2013,” I fully anticipated seeing mainstream news media reports dismissing such talk as a bunch of intolerant warmongering by out-of-touch former government officials.  But those reports haven’t surfaced!

Where are those people who argued that there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq don’t believe WMDs exist in other parts of the world?

Where are the uninformed peaceniks who ask “Why can’t we all just get along?” as terrorists are striking hotels, train stations and other targets frequented by Westerners?

They’re huddled around the base of the lectern being used by President-elect Barack Obama at his daily press briefings.

You see, the world suddenly became a dangerous place again after Obama won the keys to the White House Nov. 4.  And it’s getting more dangerous with each passing day as Jan. 20 draws closer.

Our only hope is that the president-elect — accompanied by members of the inept, Democrat-controlled Congress — heeds the commission’s warnings and immediately initiate several concrete actions, unilaterally and with the international community, to address the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction that pose the greatest peril: nuclear and biological weapons.

If he does, the nation just might survive the next four years despite his liberal bent.
