For months, the blogosphere has been abuzz with concerns many Americans share about the issue of Barack Obama’s eligibility — or lack thereof — to serve as president of the United States. Today, the Supreme Court of the United States will decide whether to consider the case. I say, “It’s about time!”
Donofrio vs. Wells, the case up for consideration by SCOTUS today is the highest profile of several cases pursued to date, according to a Chicago Tribune report yesterday. It was referred by Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas to other justices for conference.
According to a report in yesterday’s Washington Times, the judges’ conference today resulted from more than a dozen lawsuits challenging Mr. Obama’s right to be president based on his citizenship at birth.
Regardless of exactly how and why it reached the point where it is today, the case will take the vote of four justices for the Supreme Court to adjudicate the case or, in other words, to appear on the SCOTUS docket.
Here’s to hoping justice prevails.

When we should be focusing on economy, jobs, war and all the other problems we have at hand, this is a very obsurd way of wasting everyone’s time. It’s time to move on and look forward.

This should be a non-partisan issue since no man or woman (no, not even an elected official) should be above the law. Since when is trying to preserve, uphold, and defend the U.S. Constitution a waste of everyone’s time? I’m just baffled by how casual people are about this case. It’s not about preventing a Dem from winning the White House. It’s about preventing our government from creating a constitutional crisis.

From what I have read, Donofrio is challenging McCain’s eligibility also. This is a non-partisan based suit that is meant to hold accountable anyone trying to defraud the american people. Obama is a lawyer and was Senior Lecturer in Constitutional Law at the University of Chicago Law School….he of all people should know that he is not qualified. He also states it on his website that at birth he was dual-citizen (not natural born) so in a list of only 3 qualifications for president he is only 66% qualified and that is a D if you are lucky in school. (it doesn’t take a Harvard grad to figure that one). I agree whole-heartedly that we need to focus on economy, jobs, war and everything…but we deserve the constitution protected and there is good reason that the founding fathers wanted a natural born citizen to lead us. The rest of us law-abiding US citizens can figure the economy out better than the leaders in place, so it won’t hurt us to wait until we get a president who is qualified.

To believe this is about the truth is ludicrous…..like everything in America this is about race, money and power. When was the last time someone challenged the national origin of a US President….many of the same people questioning Obama citizenship sat back for 8 years and supported the worst president in US history George W. Bush. …… And now act like they care about the truth and rule of law. I would type more but I can’t laugh hysterically and type at the same time.
